my pCHEM professor told me i was hyper today...

YEA...so after lecture the class was walking downstairs to the lab and she was all...wow...ur always so hyper...i dunno if i should take that as a compliment or as an insult. oh well it just goes to show that im being noticed in class and in lab...i hope that turns into a good thing when it comes to grades. speaking of which, i passed the midterm for that class...good enough for me.

as for my weekend, well it was spent at home like i planned. unfortunately on saturday, my mom and dad had friends and their kids over...so much for peace and quite, and being a couch potato. i spent most of the day playing with the littlest one. she's only 2..SOOO CUTE! oh i also played the role of responsible/older/sober sister-taxi driver to my brother. i dropped him off at his friend's place where they were having halloween party AND i picked him up. im just glad he wasnt shit-faced and called to pick him up at a decent time.

oh dude i totally forgot about friday. yea i went to the homecoming game at the high school...it was mainly to see the band cuz i heard the show was good. i gotta admit it was a good show...very impressive. after the half time show, some of the alumni showed off our deteriated band skills to the kiddies and showed them how it was done. oh yea and as for the asb homecoming stuff...DAMN THAT SHIT SUCKED...i must say that in our day we had some talented peeps to come up with the stuff we did. i dunno about the generation now. poor guys. as for the band kids, a lot more geeky and uncool but they seemed to show great respect for alumni...thank god for that.

sunday, after going to church at 1030 as usual, i had to do the laundry cuz i didnt get to do it saturday. at the same time i was watching the charger game...WELCOME TO THE L.T. SHOW! LIGHTS OUT BITCHES! that was a nice sunday.

and plans for the rest of the week: mom's bday is tomorrow...gonna spend some time with her during the day and pass out candy to the kiddies at night. and the rest of the week will prolly consist of doing problems for iChem and getting ready for my second round of presentations for bioChem lecture and pChem lab.

4 more weeks of school kids!

thank god its THURSDAY!

so i lived through the week...YAY! last night's biochem midterm wasnt cake, but i did a descent job i think. then i was able to knock out a lab report and email it to the TA by 1230 this morning. AND i still managed to go to class 8am this morning followed by work. i had two cups of black coffee and two bagels at work...the coffee being chugged down one after another. the bagels on the other, one at the beginning of work and one at the end. i dont know where i was going with this information, but there ya go.

so its official, i havent been to the gym in 4 weeks. i feel shitty, but if it werent for them DAMN HILLS at school and all the walking i force myself to do, i prolly wouldve gained 10 pounds, hell prolly 20 by now. i dunno its hard to go to the gym for me, at least, when i dont have a set schedule. homework and midterms tend to interrupt my workout. does that make sense?

as for this weekend, i plan on spending it lounging at home and catching up on all the errands and crap that i have neglected since school started. for one, i need to get my eyebrows waxed...YAY...GROSSSSS and NEGLECTED. and i gotta wash my car again...sooooo dirty. ok...again with the unnecessary details...

you know your a dork when...

...you've finished all your classes for the day (930am) and you still at school...doing your lab report...studying for your midterm...and you have no plans on going home anytime soon =( and yes, thats me..well for today anyway. i guess its for my own good. lab report due thursday (which i am now halfway done) and a big midterm tomorrow night. there's study group tonight, hence why im still here.

speaking of midterms, i did ok for my inorganic chem midterm, which means i passed..not the score i wanted, but regardless im in good standings within the class. as for my midterm i had yesterday, which was SUPPOSED TO BE hella easy, lets just say thank god no one in the class was able to finish that shit at all. the prof just made that thing way too long to be able to do it in a hour...crazy ass professor.

oh and i have found a new favorite place to study/do homework at school. and when i mean favorite i mean a nice comfortable spot. THE NEWLY RENOVATED BIOMEDICAL LIBRARY. everything is so nice and there's outlets everwhere for your laptop AND group study room everywhere!

yea ok, im a full time dork now. sorry. thats all...break time over..back to learning status...

cramming away

actually im taking a littel (haha ok big) break from cramming. well its more like pre- cramming cuz my inorganic chem midterm isnt til thursday morning, but still. so far so good. so you ask, what the hell is inorganic? well its everything that organic chem isnt except its still hard. its all about symmetry and rotation and stuff.

yesterday's presentation was pretty good. nothing traumatic...thank god. then i came home to watch HEROES! THAT SHOW IS THE SHIT!! i totally knew that show was gonna be good. then i fell asleep all early and grandma-like. so, i was tired, sue me.

today i only had 1 class...super boring. it was inorganic chem. dude he barely finished his lecture to cover what was on the midterm. then i went home to study study study. and now im back at school cuz we have review session at 7 and i still needed to finish up the last chapter.

so, its already 4th week. its going by super fast and for once im catching up and not falling toooooo far behind. cuz dude, you can never get ahead at this school. oh shit i just realized...I HAVE TO PICK A CLASS FOR NEXT QUARTER SOON...damn...oh well...oh and NEXT WEEK IS GONNA SUCK. two midterms one on monday, one on wednesday and a lab report due by thursday. luckily the monday midterm is open note/open book. so thats no big deal. i just gotta finish my lab report. prolly due that THIS thursday/friday? HOPEFULLY.

in the library

today i started my weekend ritual of studying in the library at ucsd. im here blogging this as we speak. hey im taking a break dude. lets see, its 12:46pm. i've been here since about 10:30am. believe it or not I HAVE BEEN PRODUCTIVE. i've finished reading my paper for my cell bio class. i just gotta put my figures together for my slides. i dont quite understand it but its all good cuz my grad student partners are gonna help me out.

as for my presentation for pchem lab, it went pretty well. it wasnt as bad as my other ones from last quarter. fortunately i was able to answer almost all the questions the TA asked me after my presentation, which i have usually been unable to do. but still i think my speaking skills are pretty bad. i felt like i was rambling on and on and on. but at the end the TA said i did a pretty good job. lets just hope monday's presentation goes as well, if not even better. dude speaking in front of grad students is already intimidating as it is.

so after monday i'll be cramming for my inorganic chem midterm. man i dont know about that class. haha then again i havent done much of the problems yet. oh well.

i hate giving orals...

...reports that is. tomorrow my first lab is due and its a lab report. the prof said that the TA's are gonna cut us some slack considering that its our first one for the quarter, but still i need to kiss some ass so i can do well cuz man i get totally lost in physical chem...all the time. although labs are usually my specialty, this lab in particular will prolly suck cuz i dont even understand most of the concepts. thank god my lab partner understands everything and explains everything to me. i just need to pass this class. IM NEVER EVER EVER EVER GONNA USE THIS SHIT EVER EVER EVER. ok im just rambling.

dude, i know we just started school, cuz this is our 3rd week already, but midterms are already next week...damn...i know i said i couldnt wait for this quarter to be over but shit...i feel like i havent even learned anything in any of my classes.
oh well...starting this weekend i'll be hibernating in the library. anyone wanna join me? no? well just in case, thats where i'll be so ya'll can find me.

...HELLO FOOTBALL! man, what a dilemma...padres and chargers at the same time. thank god for picture in picture huh?! UNFORTUNATELY, the padres couldnt pull the win and they're out of the playoffs. so much for the CALI WORLD SERIES HUH? on the otherhand, the CHARGERS put a whoopin' on the sorry ass steelers.
and that was the highlight of my weekend...sports.

so other than the sports, its just been me and school. my mind is slowly getting back into school mode. prolly by saturday i'll be hitting the library as usual to try to get shit done. everyones welcome to join me.
